MG2019

15 octubre | ALS Geochemistry Training Course – Lima, Perú

Ponentes:

Amanda Stoltze

Amanda has worked as a geologist since 1997 and during that time has seen several resource types in a large variety of geological settings She is particularly interested in the collection of large geochemical data sets for Greenfields exploration especially those that can identify mineralization through transported cover She has worked extensively designing and collecting geochemical sample sets, in recent years focusing on soil sampling and hydrogeochemistry.

She completed her PhD on the Wallaby Gold Deposit (Western Australia) at The Australian National University in 2006. The focus of the study was on the trace element and isotopic characteristics of ore, alteration, intrusions and sedimentary host rocks, and how the geochemistry identified the source of the mineralizing fluid.

Pim Van Geffen

Dr Pim van Geffen is a professional geochemist and consultant based in Vancouver. He obtained his PhD at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, and has a MSc from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Over the past 15 years he has worked on a wide variety of projects in applied geochemistry and geochemical data analysis, ranging from soil and stream sediment surveys to lithogeochemistry and geomet assessments. He currently works as an independent consultant, solving problems in geometallurgy, mineral exploration, and Lithogeochemistry He was previously employed as Geochemist with Anglo American, Senior Geochemist with ioGlobal, and as Manager Geosciences North America with REFLEX.

He is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of Geoscience BC and the Technology Transfer Committee of the Canada Mining Innovation Council (CMIC), and a fellow of the Association of Applied Geochemists.

Miguel Martínez

Miguel Martínez works as a Senior Geochemist in the Business Development Area in ALS Global. His focus is the diffusion and support of new technologies and methodologies offered by the company, such as hyperspectral mineralogy, soil analysis and isotopic geochemistry.

After graduating in the Universidad de Chile, he served as a geologist for more than 15 years in metal mining. Most of that time he worked in exploration teams for copper deposits in Andes mountain range, using innovative geological exploration methods and techniques.

El curso se llevará a cabo en el Hotel Sol de Oro, en el distrito de Miraflores, Lima – Perú.
